Resource and Referral Disclaimer

It is Child Care Options duty to inform parents utilizing our service that names of providers given as referrals are intended as referrals only, not recommendations.  All referrals are either certified/licensed forms of child care as defined under the applicable statues, rules, and regulations of the Sate of Maine or are Legal/Exempt providers. Legal/Exempt providers can only serve two unrelated children in addition to their own and are not required to be regulated.

Child Care Options cannot warrant the information concerning any providers. We do not license, endorse, visit, screen or recommend any particular provider. Nor can we assure that any provider gives quality care. It is the parent’s right and responsibility to choose the child care most appropriate for his/her own family  Parents should always visit or interview providers.

Vacancy checks are done monthly by the Referral Specialist. These checks are only as accurate as the information given to Child Care Options by providers.  Please be aware that for the most recent vacancies parents should call providers directly.

Committed to assisting parents with child care resources, included in our referral packets will be check lists on choosing qualified and safe child care. We are also willing to meet with parents and provide additional resources on choosing quality child care upon request of the parent. Our hours of operation are Monday through Friday 8 am to 4:30 pm and we can be reached by calling the below number.
