Dear Friends,
We are pleased to provide our Annual Report for 2025.
This year, SKCDC marks 59 years of service to the children and families of Southern Kennebec County. We are proud of SKCDC’s long history of early care and education along with comprehensive family services. We are honored to partner with families and recognize the daily efforts of our staff, volunteers, and community partners to provide the highest quality services to children and families participating in SKCDC programs.
Over the past year, early care and education programs were provided in nine centers, including seven public preschool collaboration classrooms. Families participating in the home-based option received HS/EHS from skilled home visitors right at home. In addition, SKCDC supports Family Child Care Homes in the USDA Child and Adult Care Food Program and serves as an authorized Car Seat Distribution Center.
SKCDC partnered with community members to support food security for our neighbors, and to provide family events. Facilities have been upgraded to ensure safe, healthy, and engaging environments for our children. We look forward to the upcoming program year and rededicate ourselves to our mission of improving lives and opportunities for children and families.
As Staci Fortunato completes her term of service on the Board of Directors she shared, “To be a part of this organization’s growth and continued service to the families in our community has been nothing short of inspiring. I am so proud of the entire SKCDC staff and the families who place their children with SKCDC, knowing they will receive whole family support, high quality care from our highly trained staff and outstanding education. It has been my honor to serve on the Board of Director’s for SKCDC for the last 20 years.
Onward!
Sincerely,
Staci Fortunato
