Our Gardiner Center Supervisor, Ivy, recently attended the 2026 Fall Leadership Institute in Washington, D.C., alongside Leah, a Gardiner parent and member of our Policy Council. 💜
We're especially proud to share that Leah was recognized at the conference with the Advocacy All Star Award! 🏆 Leah serves on several boards, including the National Head Start Association, and her dedication to children and families shines in everything she does. Congratulations, Leah!
On Hill Day, Ivy and Leah met with members of Maine's congressional delegation and their staff to share how Head Start supports children and families here at home, and why strong program standards matter. They were also treated to a private tour of the Capitol, thanks to Senator King and his staff. ✨
As SKCDC celebrates 60 years, it means so much to see one of our own Gardiner families helping carry those voices to Capitol Hill. Thank you, Ivy and Leah, for representing SKCDC so well! 🙌
